Roof coatings are the most affordable way to restore your roof system, prolonging its life for up to 10 years. The most popular roof coating is an Elastomeric Roof Coating (white coating). This coating is applied as a liquid and dries to become a seamless layer/membrane, making it tougher for water to infiltrate the system considering there are no seams for water to travel through. The Department of Energy has determined that a white Elastomeric Roof Coating can improve your buildings energy efficiency up to 50% while reflecting up to 90% of harmful UV rays.
A common deterrent is that in regions that may suffer from snow conditions, this roof makes it much harder for snow and ice to melt because it doesn’t absorb heat. Accumulating snow on a roof can lead to leaks and in hazardous conditions, roof collapse.
