Protecting your home from winter weather
Your home is your biggest investment and where you keep your most valuable assets safe and dry. Let CPR help you stay watertight this winter with these tips:
1. Make sure to check gutters, fascia and downspouts. These are some of the first parts of your roof system to be affected by winter weather.
2. In the event of heavy winds, shingles can come loose and detach themselves from the roof. Make sure to visually check your roof after heavy winds to make sure no shingles are missing or damaged.
3. Once snow and ice arrive, periodically check for ice damming along your gutters - ice dams can prevent water from draining properly.
**CP Rankin can install heat elements in your gutters to melt snow and encourage proper drainage.
4. If you have any flat portions of your roof, it is recommended that you apply a coating to keep the roof system watertight.
5. If snow builds up on your roof, it can cause dehabilitating damage to your roof system and the supports underneath.
**CP Rankin's service crews can assist with your snow removal, both on your roof and on the ground.
6. In the event of any issues or concerns, call CP Rankin, your winter weather expert, right away. We offer SAME DAY SERVICE for all leak calls and snow removal needs.
