Waterproofing

Waterproofing is defined as the resistance of the passage of water under hydrostatic head pressure.  When water is present from underground buildup, this pressure increases, potentially causing damage.  Waterproofing is typically an "underground" application, but it can also have an above grade, but below the roof location on a building.

CP Rankin can help you protect your building from water damage with our expertise in:

  • Below Grade Waterproofing - Walls of a building's basement levels are sometimes protected against water seepage as the space may be used as storage, parking or other occupancy use allowed by code.
  • Plaza Deck - Plaza decks are located at or above grade level and are public areas accessible to pedestrians and in some cases vehicles.  Flashing details are complex as the various elements converge at the structural deck level where the waterproofing system resides.
  • Air Vapor Barriers - As building professionals looked for ways to make buildings more energy efficient, they found that stopping uncontrolled air leakage through the building envelope was effective.
