Liquid Applied Systems
The base of this system is a liquid applied membrane or coating designed and manufactured as a waterproofing agent. For increased durability, a reinforcement scrim can be incorporated during installation. Ideal for a flat or pitched roof, this system no only offers easy installation but also the benefit of a seamless coating that is capable of coping with irregular surfaces and will adhere to mostly any substrate. Liquid applied systems typically are used as a recovery application in one or more coats, or they can be applied directly to the deck to extend the life of an existing system.
CP Rankin offers a selection of specially formulated coatings appropriate for use over a variety of substrates, such as metal, wood and built-up roofing (BUR), and includes:
- Elastomeric - Typically water-based, these coatings are used as a recovery application to extend the life of an existing system. The most common applications are on walls, metal roof systems, smooth surface BUR, single ply and concrete.
- Acrylic Elastomeric - This product has the advantages of a traditional elastomeric coating, but it has the added benefit of performing in ponding conditions. This system usually incorporates a polyester reinforcement fabric and provides excellenet flexibility and strength.
- Acrylic Modified Urethane - This system offers superior performance advantages, including: flexibility; chemical and traffic resistance; potable water storage; the ability to be applied over most roof systems. In different applications, the system can yield an expected life cycle of 15 years.
- Epoxy - An excellent waterproofing agent, a flexible epoxy has the advantages of a thin layer application and use in wet areas. Epoxy systems can be installed over any smooth roofing system (except silicone) or directly to concrete decks.
- Polyurethane Foam Spray (PUF) - Similar to a liquid insulation, PUF is a system that is installed directly on the deck or existing membrane. This system can be thought of as insulation as well as waterproofing, but it must be used in conjunction wtih a surface coating to protect against UV exposure.
